The bar was commissioned by Design&Rhetoric’s Kevin Whitley for his parents’ house in Marfa. It’s about a ceremony – opening the liquor cabinet and mixing the drinks. Kevin wanted the surfaces to be pale, almost immaterial, and the inside to glow. He liked the idea that it was made of “rubber bands and chewing gum.”
